Where to go Wakeboarding in Hong Kong?

In Hong Kong, wakeboarding is very popular because we have so many bays and beaches around. People normally wakeboarding in the sea, as we don't have lakes like other countries. To look for flat water, depends on the wind direction, we often get flat water during the summer morning. A few places we can recommend you, they are Stanley, Repulse Bay, Sai Kung and Tai Po.

1) Stanley is a very convenient location for those who live on the Island, they have nice inboard boats for rental, you can wakeboard along the Tai Tam Bay but it could be quite choppy in the weekend as there are too many boats. You can reach Patrick at 2813-2372, Kwan Lo at 9102-2929 or Jim at 9201-2995 for boat rental 7 days a week.

2) Repulse Bay is a very prime residential area, the bay is beautiful there. Nice place for wakeboarding but pretty crowded during the weekend. You can call Wai Hung at 9021-6077, Ben Mok at 9644-1943 or Mr. Chan at 2812-0391 for speedboat rental 7 days a week.

3) Sai Kung has more space for wakeboarding because you can go to different bays, where you can search for flat water in different area, water is cleaner also. You can try Simon Wong at 9033-3222 for boat rental, he has a Malibu inboard speedboat for rent, located at Marina Cove and provided with all basic facilities. Besides, if you like to ride a TIGE inboard boat, you can call Mr. Chan (Ah Yau) at 9484-4142 or i-Chai at 5190-8258.

The above mentioned rental boats are including boat driver and wakeboard equipment, and if you are a beginner they would give lesion without extra cost. Boat rental cost usually charged by hour, rates from HK$500 to HK$800 per hour depends on the size, design and how nice the boat is. If you prefer Wake-skating or Wake-surfing, just talk to the boat rental people and some have the equipment to offer as well.
